Magnus Backström has more than 25 years of experience in investment management and capital markets. Following his successful career start at Carnegie Fondkommision, the Union Bank of Finland and Merita Bank, he has for the last 12 years held investment management positions with significant Nordic institutions including Chief Investment Officer at Nordea Life Assurance, Nordea Life & Pensions, OP Bank Group and Managing Director of Aktia Asset Management.

Mr. Backström has significant experience from both the sell and buy side, and has a long tenure with broad asset allocation responsibility during several economic cycles.

Mr. Backström is Managing Director for Tradeka-Invest (as per January 1, 2012) and holds a MSc. in Finance (honors) from Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration, Helsinki and MSc. (Operations Research, ASLA-Fulbright scholarship) from Stanford University, Palo Alto, USA.
